Spring

SPRING!
Its spring in New England and along with spring comes mud, ticks, flies, and worst of all the

occasional snow flurries that (mostly happen in April or May as soon as it gets warm and you get excited for spring)  make you realize you need a vacation! And this is how to survive spring in New England.

TIP #1 NEVER get excited as soon as you see bare ground. I know after a VERY long winter it's easy to get caught up in the moment when you see the first bud  and the first bare spot on the ground, but try not to get caught up in the excitement because  it is very likely that next week you will get 2 inches of snow and then that's when you decide you need to take a vacation STAT

TIP#2 ALWAYS keep bug spray on you. this is essential if you want to survive bug season. In certain spots the black flies can be so bad it has a dark look out side and as soon as you step outside you get ten bugs in your mouth and at least one in your eye.  For best results  use at least 2 different kinds of bug spray ( just in case one is not effective) and the best way to keep bugs out of your eyes, and mouth is buying a head net.

TIP#3 Ticks can be very bad in bad in New England for the best way to prevent tics is to tuck your pants into your long socks to prevent ticks from getting onto your skin and then once you get inside you can do a quick tick check and pat down to try to find any ticks before they latch on and start sucking.  You can also buy tick repellent to spray around  your ankles if you feel its necessary.
